Context on my research project


PDS-70—hosts a protoplanetary disk with two successfully directly observed nascent planets (Keppler et al. 2018, Haffert et al. 2019). The strong interest from the astronomy and astrophysics communities in using this system as a laboratory to study planet formation—141 publications published between 2018 and 2024 contain 'PDS 70' in their abstract, including 78 refereed articles—underscores the importance of facilitating such detections.
This has motivated me to orient my research toward finding direct evidence of exoplanets within protoplanetary disks and studying their interactions with their surrounding environments.
